Before you begin any pond project you need to have a good idea what you are doing and how you will do it.  Check with your local zoning office and secure any needed permits.  Some of the skills and talents you will need to have, or be willing to pay for, before you begin include: Electrical, Carpentry, Plumbing, and Masonry skills.
