Assignment:

This is a project that will be completed both at home and in school. It will require you to work in either a group of two (maximum) or on your own. You will have to convince the class to vote for a political party of your choice based on issues and facts that you present to the class. Your information must be accurate and show an understanding of the material in the chapter.

Parties:

Republican

Democrat

Reform

Communist

Socialist

Libertarian

Task:

For this project you will need to do two things. First you will need to create a poster supporting your political party or ideals. Second you will have to write a short speech that will be presented in class. The goal of the speech will be to convince the other students in class to vote for your side. It must also explain, accurately, to the class what your party stands for

Resources:

At home or in the school library you will need to look up campaign issues to discuss in your speech or on the poster. You may use the Internet, electronic encyclopedia, magazine articles, & books.

Scope:

Keep this project limited to 2 or 3 issues, don=t over whelm us with a ton of facts. Use the newspaper to find current issues to support or refute.

What is Due?

1. A very creative & unique poster.

2. A written speech stating why the class should vote for a candidate from your party.

3. A persuasive presentation using your speech.

Create a Hyper Studio or PowerPoint presentation to liven up your presentation!
